Mountain Wildflowers

An alpine meadow with yellow Coneflowers in the foreground of this landscape image is contrasted by the high mountain peaks in the background.

The nearer of the peaks is Sofa Mountain, inside Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta, Canada.

This image was captured from a lookout point along Hwy 6, just north of the Canada/United States border. (49.066101, -113.791079)

These yellow coneflowers (Rudbeckia hirta var. pulcherrima), also known as a Gloriosa Daisy, or Black-eyed Susans, are widespread throughout North America. They are usually annuals, but may grow as biennials or perennials in the right conditions.
