Dog Violets

Common Dog-violet (Viola riviniana) is a species of the genus Viola.
It is also called wood violet or dog violet. It is a perennial herb which grows in woodlands, grassland, and shady hedge banks, in most soil types except acidy or wet soils.
The purple flowers appear from April to June.
